Today

Sorry, it has been a couple of months since my last entry but I have been SWAMPED!! However, I have had the opportunity and honor to officiate my cousins wedding in Houston. It was a wonderful weekend catching up with family who I haven't seen in a while. It was incredible being up there with Trey and Brittany as they vowed to love and honor and respect each other for the rest of their lives. It reminded me of the 3 C's of Christian marriage...first, and foremost, build your "house" on the rock that is Christ! In other words, go to church and get involved. A marriage who builds their house on Christ will be able to weather any storm that comes it's way! Second, communication is the key to a healthy marriage! Communication is something that needs to be worked on continuously because men and women communicate differently but communication between man and woman will change over time. The way you communicate now is not how you will communicate after 20 years of marriage. You will both grow and change and so will the way you communicate. Lastly, this is a covenant that is ratified in heaven and so is something that is to be entered into whole heartedly and something that "no man can put asunder." In other words, this is serious business and shouldn't be able to broken up or given up at the drop of a hat! I think with these three things in mind a marriage can stand the test of time and chaos! Does it mean that everything will always be easy? No! I'm Just Sayin' that marriage is something that can and should be fought for and that it is work! And, if you really want to make it work then Christ has to be at the center of it.
